Ten Spanish university students are in hospital in Cuba, after their
coach was involved in a pile-up near the island's main tourist resort of
Varadero this weekend.

Two of the five seriously injured had emergency surgery, and are now
reported to be out of danger.

The accident happened early on Saturday, 150 kms from the Cuban capital
of Havana, when a van crashed into the lorry which was travelling behind
the students' vehicle.

The group of 80 is studying at the Environmental Studies Faculty in the
UAM, the Autonomous University of Madrid, and are all aged between 20
and 22.
