That's the message from Health Minister Jerry Narace …as he spoke at a
news conference yesterday …to mark International Nurses week.
According to Minister Narace health personnel are being sought from Cuba
and the Philippines.
However he noted priority would be given to locals in their recruitment
drive.
Minister Narace says so far … 71 locals have applied to serve at local
health care services.
The minister says those applications are being considered …and will be
sent to the various regional health authorities.
There are currently 1510 training nurses…and the minister says this will
be sufficient to fill the 1252 vacancies by the year 2012.
