Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings were held in Cuba and
China on July 6 and 7 on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of demise
of President Kim Il Sung.
Present at the remembrance meeting held in Cuba were personages of the
Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Cuban Committee for
Supporting Korea's Reunification and
Kim Il Sung Economic Special School and masses and the DPRK ambassador
to Cuba and staff members of his embassy.
Jose Manuel Garcia Torres, vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for
Supporting Korea's Reunification, said in a speech made at the meeting
that Kim Il Sung devoted his all to the revolution and the people all
his life.
The Cuban people always remember the facts that Kim Il Sung, their close
friend, extended disinterested support to Cuba each time the Cuban
revolution underwent the most stern trials and he accorded Fidel Castro
Ruz cordial hospitality during the latter's visit to the DPRK, he stressed.
Present at the remembrance meeting held in China were figures of the
China Association for International Friendly Contact and the Beijing
Association for International Friendly Contact, families of the persons
related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and officials of the
Beijing Nanjiao Farm and the China-Korea Friendship Hongxing Farm.
Present there on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to China and staff
members of his embassy and the delegation of the DPRK-China Friendship
Association.
Li Xiaohua, vice-president of the China Association for International
Friendly Contact, and Feng Yila, family member of a Chinese related to
the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, and other speakers said at the
meeting that Kim Il Sung devoted all his energies to the liberation of
Korea, socialist construction and independent reunification all his
life, adding that he was a close friend and comrade-in-arms of the
Chinese people.
They stated that Kim Il Sung is boundlessly revered by the Chinese
people for forging and fostering the great Sino-DPRK friendship together
with Chairman Mao Zedong and making an immortal contribution to the
development of the good neighborly and cooperative relations between the
two countries.
