An area of disturbed weather has formed over Eastern Cuba, the
Southeastern Bahamas and adjacent waters and could possibly become the
first tropical system of the Atlantic Hurricane Season which officially
starts June 1.

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami are saying the
development of this system will be slow and is possible during the next
day or two as it moves generally northward at 10-15 MPH.

After careful analysis, the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter Aircraft
may fly into the system tomorrow if necessary. Right now, NHC
forecasters say there is a low chance, less than 30 percent, of this
system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

If it does, the first name on the 2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season's list
of storms is Ana.
