System eyed off Cuba
Last Update: 5/18 8:34 pm

MIAMI, FL -- Hurricane season may still be a few weeks away, but
forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami are currently
watching an area of low pressure located over Eastern Cuba.

According to forecasters, any development of the system will be slow.
The system is expected to continue moving northward at 10-15mph.

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami are saying the
development of this system will be slow and is possible during the next
day or two as it moves generally northward.

If necessary, an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter may fly into the
system. Forecasters say the chance of that is less than 30%.

Should the system become the first named storm of the season, it would
be named Ana.
