ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, said here
on Saturday that trade volume between Pakistan and Cuba was not
satisfactory which needs to be boosted to benefit both the countries.
Talking to Cuban Ambassador, Gustavo Machin Gomez, who called on the
minister, Fahim said that both the countries should explore other
possibilities to increase the trade volume.
He expressed the hope that both the countries should work out various
options for the promotion of trade.
In the meeting, the Cuban ambassador showed his interest in Pakistani
rice and textile sectors for which Pakistan has great trade potential.
Both the dignitaries agreed to remove bottlenecks in relations between
the two countries and stressed the need for taking up steps for
promotion of trade and development of adequate means of communication.
On the occasion, the ambassador invited the federal minister for the
upcoming International Trade Fair which is going to be held in Havana,
the capital city of Cuba during the second week of November.
The ambassador said that it would provide the minister an opportunity to
meet his counterparts of other Latin American countries and talk to them
