State markets have empty shelves

State markets have empty shelves

HAVANA, Cuba, November 12 (Leafar Pérez / www.cubanet.org) – Two months
after Hurricanes Gustav and Ike hit Cuba, there are long lines at state
markets in the capital but few foodstuffs are on sale.

Salespersons in the markets say they regulate the prices and the
quantities that each person can buy, but that the meats and vegetables
available are insufficient to meet the demand.
