The Cuban government says they have busted 17 different migrant
trafficking operations so far this year. A lengthy article in todays'
Juventud Rebelde quotes Lt. Col. Miguel Torres Gutiérrez, operations
chief of the Ministry of Interior's border protection. He tells J-R that
the 17 crews caught this year were mostly Cuban American, but some were
Mexican fisherman. At least one died.
