Police confiscate toys from free library
SANTA CLARA, Cuba - January 30 (Guillermo Fariñas, Cubanacán Press /
www.cubanet.org) - Police confiscated a number of toys that members of
an independent library planned to distribute to children.
Yoel Espinosa said on January 27 he received a visit at the José Julian
Martí library from State Security captain Pedro Pérez and lieutenant
Yuniesky who threatened to jail him for several years if he persisted in
distributing the toys to the children.
Later that night, Espinosa tried to move the stash of toys to a safe
place but was intercepted by police who confiscated the lot.
