HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 13 - More than 14,000 persons from Cuba have
immigrated to Ecuador this year, reported the National Department of
Migration of that South American country, whose government eliminated
tourism visas in June 2008. According to Ecuador's El Comercio daily,
which cites sources from the Judicial Police, in that nation there are
mafias that arrange marriages with persons from the island to guarantee
double nationality, reported IPS.
