prisoners in secret

Spain's ABC newspaper is reporting that the Spanish government of Jose
Luis Rodriguez Zapatero joined secretly with the Cuban Catholic Church
and the Castro dictatorship to plan and carry out a massive operation to
forcibly exile and banish 50 Cuban political prisoners and their
families to Spain. Spain's Exterior Ministry has chartered a passenger
jet to ferry the Cuban dissidents from their country into exile in
Spain. This latest act is a culmination of a plan hatched by these same
parties last summer to rid Cuba of its opposition in a direct and
flagrant violation of Article 13 and 14 of the UN Declaration of Human
Rights.
My translation:
The government of Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has decided to
continue to participate in the process of liberating Cuban political
prisoners and has chartered an aircraft with a 260 passenger capacity.
The flight is scheduled to land in Madrid tomorrow with fifty former
political prisoners from Castro prisons and their family members. The
massive exile is according to the agreement reached between the
government and the Cuban Church that opened the doors to liberty for a
hundred dissidents in exchange for forced exile, except for one small
detail: all of the complex details behind this forced exile took place
in absolute secrecy.
The Executive created a board with representatives of all the
ministries involved: Exterior, Interior, Labor and Immigration,
Sanitation, and Social Policy, who have been charged with designing the
mechanisms and who have been informed that this transfer, without
precedence in number of persons arriving in Spain, should have "a low
profile," for the moment.
The charter flight (Madrid-Havana-Madrid) has been chartered by the
Exterior Ministry. It has a capacity for 260 persons, and the number of
passengers discussed yesterday ranged between 238 and 240, according to
sources ABC consulted. Of them, between 40 and 50 are former political
prisoners and the rest are family members.
Due to the secrecy behind this latest development in the
Spain/Church/Castro plan to deport and banish Cuba's opposition, no
names were mentioned in the ABC article. However, last month Cuban
blogger Dania Virgen Garcia released a list of 28 political prisoners
who were set to be banished and forcibly exiled to Spain.
