Chicago (IL) - Cuba will be receiving a new fibre optics cable run over
from Venezuela in 2010. It will greatly increase the country's Internet
bandwidth potential; however, it appears now the government is not going
to free up that bandwidth but will, instead, keep its tight controls
over Internet access in Cuba.
Cuba currently has about 11.4 million people, with only about 1.4
million online connected to the Internet.
