Doctors treat Cuban migrants

A group of 32 Cuban migrants arrived in the Scotts Dock, West End area
of Cayman Brac Friday evening (1 November). Cayman 27 understands that
some of them are ill and being treated by doctors and nurses.
Immigration Officer Raymond Scott tells Cayman 27 a search was launched
to find a vessel which has been at sea for several days. The vessel was
located off Cayman Brac and brought into Scotts Dock.
According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, about 3:40 p.m.
Friday, 911 received a call from a man who stated that he was on a
vessel which had 32 people on board. "He stated that some of the people
required medical attention. The caller was unable to provide a location
of the vessel."
Police, Department of Environment, and Immigration officers launched a
search and located the vessel. They were examined by a medical crew and
determined to be suffering from motion sickness. "They remain in safe
harbour until a further assessment in the morning," according to Chief
Inspector Brad Ebanks.
Twentynine men and three women were determined to be on the vessel.
