HAVANA — Cuba's foreign minister says his government is open to opinions
that differ from its own and will listen with respect to Pope Benedict
XVI during the pontiff's upcoming visit.
Bruno Rodriguez says the Cuban system "is a democratic social project
... which is constantly perfecting itself."
He was responding to Benedict's comment that Marxist ideology "no longer
responds to reality."
Rodriguez spoke Friday at the launch of the center where visiting
journalists will cover Benedict's March 26-28 visit.
