Vietnam gives hurricane aid to Cuba
Vietnam will provide aid in the form of US$200,000 worth of rice to Cuba
to help the recovery following hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh offered condolences to the Cuban
ambassador for his country's losses at a meeting in Hanoi Friday.
He also said he believed that the Cuban people would be able to quickly
overcome the damage caused by the hurricanes through courageous effort.
Cuban Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez thanked the Vietnamese Party,
State and people for their sentiments towards Cuba, saying the
assistance during times of need would help enrich traditional relations.
