Huntsville Church Helping Cuba

Huntsville Church Helping Cuba

September 10, 2008

NewsChannel 19's Ellis Eskew reports:

Hurricane after hurricane ripped over the country of Cuba, devastating
the island.

"You can see that these dots represent churches, and 99 percent of these
churches are in their homes. When their home is destroyed, their place
of worship is destroyed as well," said Mayfair Church of Christ Minister
Gary Bradley.

Bradley Knows the resources Cuba has or doesn't have for its people.

" There are no chainsaws. No bulldozers. There are no backhoes. There's
nothing to repair with."

That's why his church wants to help out.

But the government will not allow the U.S. to help them.

"Everybody's always been extremely generous when it comes to helping. We
have to go around this difficult situation because we are not invited in
with massive recovery like are in other countries. But we are trying to
raise the funds to get in to give to the people what is available in
Cuba," said Bradley.

Mayfair Church of Christ will take up a collection on Sunday to send to
Cuba for relief.
