DOHA • Qatar and Cuba signed yesterday a cooperation agreement in the
field of medical services in Qatar.
The agreement was signed by Chairperson of National Health Authority H E
Sheikha Ghalia bint Mohammad Al Thani and for Cuban Minister of Foreign
Investments and Economic Cooperation Marta Lomas Morales.
The agreement aims at identifying areas of cooperation between the two
sides in the public health domains in Qatar on the basis of a programme
designed to provide health services and care for the health of citizens
and residents.
According to the agreement, the Cuban side will establish and run a
general hospital in Dukhan. The Cuban side will also provide the medical
services which Dukhan general hospital needs and advanced training
courses to doctors, technicians and nurses in Qatar, as well as dealing
with the problems related to public health in the different sectors in
the State.
