HAVANA -- The Roman Catholic Church says Cuba will free seven more
prisoners and send them into exile in Spain, along with their families.
None of the men are on a list of five prominent political prisoners that
remain from a 2003 crackdown on dissent, though two were members of
opposition groups. Others were jailed for violent, but politically
motivated acts like hijacking.
Cuba has freed 47 peaceful political prisoners jailed in the 2003 sweep,
as well as about 35 other prisoners arrested separately.
