Mexico reasserts willingness to resume ties with Venezuela

Patricia Espinosa, secretary of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
claimed Tuesday that Venezuela, Cuba and Mexico are prepared to resume
their ties and fill the gap recorded during the past Mexican government.

"We are making headway, within a framework of much respect," Espinosa
said during a press conference, DPA quoted. The three governments
"appreciate the importance of re-launching our relation."

The official reported that once designated ambassadors take up their
posts, the next steps will be explored, including potential presidential
visits. For more than a year, there has not been Mexican ambassador to
Venezuela.
