Cuban charge d'affaires explains expulsion of Czech diplomat

Prague- Cuban charge d'affaires Aymee Hernandez has today explained at
the Czech Foreign Ministry why Cuba expelled a Czech diplomat, and she
will hear the protest of Czech diplomacy against this step.

Hernandez is to explain to the representatives of the ministry section
for the USA why the Cuban authorities refused to extend the visa of the
first secretary of the Czech diplomatic mission in Havana. The Czech
diplomat has to leave Cuba by Saturday.

Czech diplomacy plans a retaliatory measure.

"The Czech Republic will take a reciprocal measure," the Foreign
Ministry said on Thursday.

The Czech visa of a Cuban diplomat in Prague will expire on April 19 and
the Czech authorities will probably not extend it and thereby they will
practically expel him from the country, according to CTK information.
